New York, July 23, 2020 – Evercore (NYSE: EVR) announced today that it has formalized a strategic alliance with Seneca Evercore, an independent financial advisory firm based in São Paulo, Brazil. The partnership will enable the two companies to leverage their combined capabilities and expertise, expanding Evercore’s global network and enhancing Seneca Evercore’s service offerings.
Daniel Wainstein and Rodrigo Mello, along with their partners, recently acquired Greenhill’s platform in Brazil, renaming it Seneca Evercore. Daniel and Rodrigo have worked together for 20 years, initially at Goldman Sachs and, more recently, at Greenhill, where they co-led its Brazilian operations.
“I have had the privilege of knowing and working with Daniel and Rodrigo since 2000 and can attest to their excellence as financial advisors and, equally important, their integrity as individuals,” commented John Weinberg, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO of Evercore. “I am confident they are perfectly aligned with our Core Values, and I am genuinely excited to work with Daniel, Rodrigo, and their team again.”
Ralph Schlosstein, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO of Evercore, stated: “Brazil is a high-growth market of great importance to our global clients and our firm. We are excited about this alliance and believe we have found the ideal partner in Seneca Evercore, led by two of Brazil’s most experienced financial advisors. With the breadth and depth of our expertise and sector coverage, combined with Seneca Evercore’s local knowledge and relationships, we believe we are creating a unique opportunity to better serve our respective clients.”
Daniel Wainstein commented, “Brazil is entering a phase of significant foreign investment and increasing demand for financial restructuring solutions. We view this as the ideal time to form this partnership with Evercore, offering our clients the benefits of the platform of the world’s leading independent investment bank. We plan to utilize Evercore’s extensive capabilities and geographic reach while contributing our regional expertise and network of relationships.”
“We are excited about the future of Seneca Evercore and believe that this alliance will enable us to offer our clients a broader range of solutions for their strategic decisions, always maintaining our values and commitment to providing independent, high-quality financial advisory services,” concluded Rodrigo Mello.
