(VEJA Mercado) Managing Partner at Seneca Evercore says IPO recovery may be delayed until 2025, with government-related risks weighing on the market
By Diego Gimenes
European stock markets and U.S. futures are trading higher on the morning of Monday, the 1st. Brazilian stock market investors, however, had little to smile about in the first quarter. The Ibovespa recorded the worst performance among 41 stock exchanges worldwide. Only nine of these indices declined during the period, and the nearly 5% drop in the Ibovespa was the steepest.
The delay in U.S. interest rate cuts has been a setback, but other factors also weighed on the stock market during this period. Foreign investors, for example, have already withdrawn 22 billion reais this year.
This week will be highlighted by industrial data from Brazil and the U.S. payroll report, which will reveal March employment figures. Diego Gimenes interviews Rodrigo Mello, Managing Partner at Seneca Evercore.
